Things You Can Do to Celebrate and Commemorate Lent

what-can-you-do-during-lent

Jesus died on the cross for our salvation. His death invites everyone to pray and reflect on our faith. But aside from prayer and reflection, what other meaningful things can we do this season?

  • Fasting
In today’s world, where almost everything is instant and within reach, fasting is a sacrifice. It teaches us self-discipline and control. Evil is tempting and compelling. When we learn to fast and have control over our life, we can learn to fight against it.
  • Abstinence
Abstinence is not only a sacrifice. It is an opportunity for reflection. For teenagers, absence from the world of social media may open their eyes to what matters in life. It may give them more time to engage in meaningful conversations with other members of World Harvest Ministries in Delaware. For others, abstinence helps them spend or use their time, resources, or energy for more important things.
  • Start
Fasting and abstinence are common practices of people during lent. Aside from these, why don’t you use this time to reflect on what can you start to practice to strengthen your faith in God? You can commit to reading the Scriptures every day, spend a day volunteering, worship Him through sharing His words with others, or join a Christian Ministry in Wilmington, Delaware. Whatever you do, keep your lent a meaningful one.

Nu ViZion World Harvest Ministries Int’l invites all believers to observe a life of prayer and reflection this Lenten season. Let us remember His sacrifice through death and spread a message of salvation to others.
